So I had to reply: ( I was a bit ticked off, as the tone of the message suggests)

Please suspend it now, I’ve been trying to get you to suspend it for 9 months (since January) I’ve used one stop payment, and since have canceled the credit card, if you’d read your e-mail and act the requests of your customers you’d have saved me a lot of grief, I will never recommend your service to anyone, in fact I plan on posting a negative review about ASPNOW, MavWeb and any other keyword I can think of about your poor service and response to 7 nice cancellation requests!

Have a good day,
–Ben

I still don’t think they will respond, but I thought I’d try, either way the ordeal is finally done since the credit crad they were using is now gone :)

what do we do with pre-internet address lists and social networks?

October 12, 2007 by burnettb317

Everyone,
Since all (most) social networking (business or personal) sites work by linking/finding people we know by looking up unique e-mail addresses, what do we do to find people that we don’t have an e-mail for, but maybe an old phone #, old town, name, some location or background info etc. is there any service or system that helps us find and connect to these past contacts/freinds/colleagues? I just did an outlook address book lookup on Xing, and it did a name lookup of Xing members on my non-e-mail-matching contacts and gave me a list of possibilities, but since I’m in the USA and xing is mainly europe (or for other reasons) Xing does not have many of my contacts, however I’m sure the LinkedIn, MySpace, and Facebook would have many people I know.

Can anyone help me with this problem? Also I have some technical ideas of a way to search and find people in an automated way on the open internet, but don’t have the time to implement. If anyone is interested, or if anyone knows where I could find the data definition specs of an outlook *.pst file that would be great.

Thanks,
–Ben Burnett

I got another Win and a paper to be published at a conference!

September 13, 2007 by burnettb317

Navy SBIR Phase I win:

Topic Number: N07-151

Proposal Title: Agent based Viral Object Caching and Dissemination Overlay (AVOCADO)

Technical Abstract:Improved dissemination of software, updates, messages, and data in tactical networks require new and adaptive systems to improve war fighter’s decision making abilities, performance and systems readiness. Degradation of services across platforms needs to be avoided while reducing update times for C4I applications, techniques and technologies in tactical networks including remote nodes with limited and intermittent communications. The Agent based Viral Object Caching and Dissemination Overlay (AVOCADO) system provides a novel dissemination system for existing networks (such as the GCCS-M in Tactical networks) based on an overlay data caching system using agents, data objects, and automation scripts. Existing update management systems send files from a base node to each other node, causing countless redundant data paths. AVOCADO will stop redundant data transfer and wasted bandwidth while guaranteeing delivery of data, software and updates to all needed nodes.

Paper to be published at MILCOM07 (http://www.milcom.org/):
